Papillotomy for Stone Extraction

22 year-old man with cholecystitis and abnormal liver enzymes. Left: At ERCP, a stone was seen impacted in the ampulla. After cannulation of the ampulla and injection of contrast, multiple stones were seen radiographically.
Right: Papillotomy in progress; the wire is cutting upward in the 12 o'clock position.


Left: Balloon catheter has been inserted and inflated above a stone, which can be seen as it is being extracted by slow withdrawal of the balloon catheter. Right: Stone fragment successfully retrieved.
