Ileal Lipoma

55 year-old woman undergoing evaluation of occult bleeding and significant anemia not explained by either esophagogastroduodenoscopy or colonoscopy. Capsule enteroscopy demonstrated this smooth submucosal ileal polyp (LEFT) with no other pathology. Enteroclysis (RIGHT) was obtained for precise localization; the filling defect caused by the polyp is evident just to the left of the middle of the xray. Surgical resection revealed the lesion to be a lipoma. The cause of bleeding remains obscure.
