40 year-old woman with abdominal pain, fever and rectal bleeding. Colonoscopy revealed focal diverticulitis: peridiverticular inflammation with scant exudate.



More extensive inflammation in this 79 year-old man with abdominal pain and rectal bleeding. Colonoscopy revealed segmental inflammation with stricture formation; there is a diverticulum at the 12 o'clock position, while the narrowed lumen is at the lower right.
