Colonic Hematoma
63 year-old undergoing colonoscopy for polyp surveillance. A thickened mucosal fold, having no vascular appearance, was biopsied. The site immediately became swollen and blue, as a submucosal hematoma formed at the biopsy site. Shown here is the hematoma, with a trickle of blood emanating from the biopsy site. The biopsy forceps is also seen.
