Internal hemorrhoids with a prominent vascular pattern, with a focus of active bleeding. Visualized by retroflexing the colonoscope within the rectum.
Pulsatile bleeding from an internal hemorrhoid in a 90 year-old woman who presented with rectal bleeding and severe anemia. Hemostasis was achieved by the application of a single band to the bleeding site. Reinspection five days later revealed a small eschar at the site; bleeding did not recur.
