Mucosal bridge in a setting of diverticular disease. Presumably a post-inflammatory phenomenon, resulting from perforation of a diverticulum back into the lumen. Image at right shows the same mucosal bridge from a different angle, with biopsy forceps passed underneath the bridge.

Left:Rectal mucosal bridge as an incidental finding in a 58 year-old man undergoing colonoscopy.
Right:Mucosal bridge found at the site of a left-sided anastomosis in a 64 year-old man who had undergone previous left colectomy.
